Burnout is defined by Merriam-Webster Dictionary as the "exhaustion of physical or emotional strength or motivation usually because of prolonged stress or frustration." On top of this, the World Health Organization (WHO) added burnout to the International Classification of Diseases in 2019, labeling it as a global health concern. Burnout among those in “helping professions,” like mental health care and education, is particularly prominent.
The Mountain Plains MHTTC is committed to supporting and promoting provider well-being, self-care, and resiliency practices - check out our website for upcoming trainings on recognizing and preventing burnout!
