Hello friends, and colleagues,

A group of about 20 of us from OEA (Oregon Educators Association) members and OEA staff the opportunity to learn from and with Hanif and his team in an equity facilitator training last summer through a workshop that his company, CEI (Center for Equity & Inclusion), put on at OEA . Hanif is a phenomenal human, a wonderful speaker, and skillful facilitator, so I think you'll truly enjoy this event. We need your help to advertise and recruit participants. Can you recruit 10 people from your departments/teams, and/or buildings, and/or our community to this important event?

We are aiming to fill the Broadway Rose auditorium. We will be pre-ordering books for all staff who attend, so if you are a staff member who attends, you will get Hanif's book when it comes out in fall 2023.

A Book talk with Hanif Fazal at the Broadway Rose Theater on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 7-8pm. This is an important, and exciting free event! Help us fill the auditorium so bring a friend or family member to learn more about Hanif’s debut novel, An Other World. His Novel is a memoir of his experiences living in the Portland area. It is “a hopeful path forward where joy is the norm rather than the struggle, where school and work are inclusive rather than exclusionary.” Join us and leave energized and ready to cultivate a nurturing community for all of us to thrive in.
