Webinar: Examining Gender Differences in Mental Health

Mental health conditions can impact us all, but how they present may differ depending on gender. In addition, strong sociocultural forces—like the saying “boys don’t cry”—can impact social and emotional development in kids.

Join us as Roberto Olivardia, PhD, discusses the impacts of stereotyping on mental health, highlights differences in the presentation of mental health conditions between genders, and answers audience questions on how to be supportive of kids and their mental health.

Native American Mental Health: What You Need To Know

Native American communities live in a unique cultural context—the heritage shared by members of these communities influences their mental health outcomes, as well as their access to treatment.

These populations face barriers to treatment due to availability, accessibility, and acceptability. We must consider treatment strategies that are helpful for this population—a group that represents a wealth of cultures, languages, and experiences.

Webinar: Managing Fears and Phobias in Kids and Teens

As children and teens navigate the journey to adulthood, they encounter a range of fears, both rational and irrational. It is common for children to be afraid of imaginary creatures or for teens to fear social rejection. However, if these fears are left unaddressed, they can develop into various types of anxiety disorders.

Join us as Jacqueline Sperling, PhD, breaks down common fears for kids and teens, offers strategies for parenting children who are feeling scared, and answers audience questions about specific phobias and how they’re treated.
