988 Formative Research: Messaging and Communications about 988 to People at Higher Risk for or Disproportionately Impacted by Suicide — Webinar

Tuesday, November 7, 2023 2:30 p.m. ET

This webinar will preview findings of the 988 Formative Research. These findings can help form the basis of future culturally sensitive, responsive, effective, and successful 988 communications: First, to make more people aware of 988 across the country, and then to instill trust and confidence in the service so people will contact 988 when struggling with mental health, or in a moment of crisis, or in need of support. The webinar will also preview resources developed by the project that can support behavioral health agencies and service providers’ communication efforts to increase awareness and use of 988 in their communities.

Assessing Self-Injurious Behavior (Cutting): A Primer for Mental Health Workers — Webinar

Monday, November 13, 2023 2 p.m. ET

This workshop will provide foundational information regarding self-injurious behavior (SIB), including definitions, causes, prevalence, and an overview of evidence-based treatments for SIB. Participants will also receive instruction in developing a school wide protocol for assessing/supporting self-injurers.

Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention for LGBTQIA2S+ Youth — Webinar and Series of Guides

To help professionals, families, and communities support the mental well-being of LGBTQIA2S+ youth, the SAMHSA-funded Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) has released a full series of guides which offers action-oriented strategies for supporting youth and highlights sources of joy and positive elements of being LGBTQIA2S+. Watch the brief webinar for an overview of the series.

New 988 Lifeline Awareness Videos

Check out two new videos that promote the 988 Lifeline called Impact of the 988 Lifeline and You Matter PSA, from the 988 Partner Toolkit! Share these videos on your social media channels to help raise awareness of the 988 Lifeline and the importance of reaching out.
